How to spend your PE and Sport Premium

In September 2017, the DfE announced the great news that schools would be receiving DOUBLING of their PE and Sport premium due to the soft-drinks tax levy. This is a great way for schools to directly impact the quality of Physical Education and Sport, raise the profile of Physical Education and provide additional physical activity for pupils both in and outside of curriculum time. We are all striving for one goal: for the young people in our care to become confident, competent movers that make healthy lifestyle choices.

How can our Teacher Development help to meet the needs of PE and Sports premium?

Our evidence-based approach will provide teachers with the competence and confidence they need to become outstanding physical educators by tailoring our service to chosen schemes of work, working with your children, in your school, using your equipment. We will provide the evidence of the process, which many schools are choosing to publish on their website.

How can our FitBag product meet the needs of the PE and Sport premium?

‘The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity – kick-starting healthy active lifestyles’ - Indicators of improvement using the PE and Sport Premium, The Association for Physical Education, September 2017

Our FitBag for EYFS is designed to get children active outside of curriculum time, inspiring children to make healthy, active lifestyle choices when they are not in school.

‘A brilliant and easy idea to implement in to our Early Years! Our pupils couldn't wait for it to be their turn to take the bag home and tell the class what they had done with the equipment with their families. We noticed a difference in the children's gross and fine motor skills which all helped with their physical development assessments and writing. It was an easy way to engage parents in physical development and help them support their children at home which they are always asking how to do!’

How can our FitKid product meet the needs of the PE and Sport premium?

‘The profile of PE and Sport being raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement’ - Indicators of improvement using the PE and Sport Premium, The Association for Physical Education, September 2017

Our FitKid product aims to engages ALL children in physical activity. We use an intra-class competition to engage all pupils, whilst using personalised and differentiated goals for classes and individuals to meet both the learning needs and physical development needs of the diverse population of children in our schools. Engaging children to take ownership of their physical activity in this way has raised the profile of PE and sport in schools. Furthermore, the technology is used to promote healthy-active lifestyles both in and outside of school by engaging children in the benefits of becoming physically literate and providing realistic and personalised challenges for them.
